All time favorite film.
There’s something in the way it captures the pursuit love, emotion, and the need for human connection. I love it.
Say what you will, Zach Braff is phenomenal.
Just watching this and hearing a wonderful song, makes my day perfect. :)

And I started crying… You can try to guess which line affected me so deeply. I don’t think it will be easy for you guys cause the lyrics are beautiful. All interpretations aside.

The guy you see is also from Srubs right? Anyway awesome track 5/5.

The13thD1sciple March 20, 2010 at 5:04 am

English guru.. LOL :)
I didn’t expect any real response, thanks all, really.

I wouldn’t critisize whatever interpretation you had, I think the song reaches people in various types of context, yet I fail to see any analogy or opinion on the song from you, which is all I was doing from what I get from the song.

You make points but there isn’t enough depth from your thoughts, probably due to youtubes character limit, if you’d wanna add me and have a good natter about it?
Im intrigued

Whizzkidd202 March 20, 2010 at 5:17 am

@The13thD1sciple Dude awesome interpertation. that’s kind of what i was thinkin in a little less of an english guru format =)

selfdestructabilify March 20, 2010 at 6:03 am

I love The Shins they make me happy. The opening to this video from the movie is awful tho. Well awful because a plane crash would be horrible Ive had one absolutely horrible flight from Paris and because of that Im now a Valium traveler

Whizzkidd202 March 20, 2010 at 6:07 am

@SonyaImmy it is a fantastic movie! i make all of my friends watch it because i feel like it has a good message!

SonyaImmy March 20, 2010 at 6:11 am

I’m trying to understand what he’s saying. That’s all. Yes, to people like you it would seem that i would be flaunting my intelligence. You are observing me being critical of another interpretation, which i think is vague. Tommy, is this how you respond to any type criticism? to say those critics are “flaunting their intelligence?” You must think Theroue was a pompous arse, or Locke, or anyone who has ever questioned interpretations. I can see you feel i am trying to impress people. Not true.

SilverZipperRecords March 20, 2010 at 6:45 am

if you like this, you should check? out Dillon Campbell on itunes or cdbaby…

TommyW88 March 20, 2010 at 7:08 am

If this isn’t the most pathetic attempt to try and flaunt your (absent) intelligence, I don’t know what is.

I don’t think 13th had pompous arses like you in mind when he wrote that comment, therefore he had no need to be anything less than ‘very vague’.

c1508260b March 20, 2010 at 7:23 am

Honestly, 13th, you are very vague in your description. What is this “disillusionment” in growing up that you speak of? are you speaking of social conformity? Materialism taking away one’s ability to live a meaningful life? I don’t understand your interpretation. Having to change from what? a cliche like “rat race” does not convey any substantial meaning, because we’ve all heard it a million times before. Be specific, unless your intended audience is the uneducated masses.

johnsson58 March 20, 2010 at 8:12 am

@The13thD1sciple you should write a book or something. That’s pure wisdom

pokabeb March 20, 2010 at 8:57 am

Oh gosh, James Mercer’s voice melts my heart.
